Professional Biography Family & Interests

Mike Robinette serves as staff scientist on environmental remediation and investigation projects. In this role he performs field data collection, technical file reviews, permitting studies, construction and remediation oversight, and report writing. In addition, he is in charge of Information Technology and responsible for office and field electronic equipment selection, setup, network maintenance, hardware and software trouble shooting, and e-mail communications. Previous environmental experience includes work at the NHDES as Administrator of the Pre-Remedial Section performing preliminary assessments and site inspections of contaminated properties and in a consulting company as a hydrogeologist focused on water supply exploration.

Mike began his third career challenge three years ago when he agreed to join NE2S as Director of IT services. This job, though possibly less challenging than his last (serving as Mr. Mom for 15 years), tracks well with his professional experiences as a hydrogeologist with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) during the formative years of computer usage in the state system during the 80’s. Besides keeping all the computers up and running, Mike assists on field projects and figure preparations. His personal passions are sailing (need a Captain anyone for your 50 foot yacht?), skiing, reading science fiction and spending time with his family.
